Guild Starfire II - 1962 - in honey amber.

Guild Starfire II - 1962 - in honey amber.

Guild Starfire II made in Hoboken, New Jersey USA in 1962. The first Starfires were introduced in 1960 so this is a very early model and is a very rare model for two reasons - it has twin white DeArmond pickups which were only used on very early Starfires,. but mainly becuase it has one of the rarest finishes of all, which is ''honey amber''.

It is all original apart from the missing pickguard, but these can be found and its a great playing guitar as most of the early Starfires are. It shows some buckle rash on the back and various other small marks and a slight binding shrinkage on one of the waists, but this is not damage and the binding is strong and complete. It has at sometime in the past had a headstock crack - not all the way through by any means and very hard to photograph - but this has been professionally repaired some years ago and is completely stable.

This is a players guitar with sought after pickups and a very sought after finish plus with its original Guild hardcase.
