Hofner Club 50 - 1961

Hofner Club 50 dating from 1961. The ''toaster'' pickups were only used by Hofner during 1960 and 1961 so that narrows it down but the serial number dates it to 1961. It has the early rectangular control panel which contains the two volume controls and the three tone switches.
The body is fully bound in black and is in a really good condition, The headstock is unusual in that it has the name ''Phil Stannard Special'' - who after some research I discovered was a band player in the sixties in the north of England.
A nice original guitar and a good player.
