Otwin Sonor Archtop

Otwin Sonor Archtop

Otwin Sonor archtop
Otwin guitars were made in East Germany by luthier Otmar Windish - in an area where many makes of guitars were made in the forties, fifties and early sixties.
The Otwin Sonor dates from the later fifties and is an archtop with an original Otwin pickup in the neck position. It has a seventeen inch width lower bout and a body depth of three and a quarter inches. The light sunburst body is fully bound and has unusually shaped soundholes. The tailpiece is much like that of the Hofner 'Frequensator' type and the floating bridge is all wood.
The neck is glued in and the fretboard contains twenty-two frets with full
width markers. The headstock is also bound and has a black front with the 'Otwin Sonor' logo and the three on a side strip tuners.
Its a very rare guitar - all original and a very good player with a big sound.
It comes in a very nice fitted non original hardcase.
